If Christianity were true, would you believe?
Maybe you find that a difficult question to answer.
Of course, we think that anything which is true, should be believed.
That’s what science is all about. If it is true that water at 50 degrees is a liquid, you should believe that. If it is true that birds hatch out of eggs, you should believe that. If it is true, you should believe it.
If Christianity were true, would you believe it?
There are many who say “no”.
The Jews were told by Roman soldiers that Jesus had come to life. The Roman soldiers had absolutely no interest in stating that Jesus had come to life. Rather, they would have been safer if they had concocted some story as to why the grave was empty. The Jews knew the truth. However, they refused to believe. They were the ones who made up a story, to hide the truth.
However, the truth cannot remain hidden. At one point, the Jews figured Jesus was in league with the demons. Yet, he could not be, as he was fighting demons. Following his death and resurrection, the Jews knew who Jesus was.
Still they refused to believe. For they could not bear to think they had been wrong. They were unwilling to take responsibility for their actions. The Jews wanted to be free, to live as they felt best for them.
If Christianity were true, would you believe? If your answer is “no”, ask yourself if you are being honest. Honest with yourself. Honest with God.
Realize, as Jesus taught: Only the truth will set you free.
